Why we care about Vacation Bible School and
Summer Camp?
The biblical content built into the curriculum lays foundational truths that help kids understand who Jesus is and why they need a personal Savior. The relationships you develop with kids and their families can provide many opportunities to not only show the love of Jesus, but to share the truth of the gospel (Lifeway.) Each summer we hold VBS around the first week after Mt. Ida schools let out for summer break. We usually host around 90 kids and 40 Volunteers to help. Each night they receive a great meal and fabulous bible based studies and activities from our loving, caring, and trained staff. On Thursday's of that week we host the families of all those kids who attended and we feed everyone to usher in new relationships and to thank the parents for allowing us time that week with their kids.
Our campers think Camp Siloam is the greatest place on earth. Why? We keep our programming fresh and relevant. Everything we do is done with excellence. But more importantly, where else can someone point to the precise spot where God spoke to them 30 years ago? At Camp Siloam, they can because God has been meeting people here for 100 years (Camp Siloam.) First Baptist Mt. Ida has chosen to attend Camp Siloam because we have witnessed the transformation of our children and youth campers as well as the counselor's who attend with them. This is a very busy, action packed week where campers get worship services twice a day and other bible themed activities in between those services.
Thank you for registering your child with First Baptist Mt. Ida for VBS. Keep your eyes open for updates on facebook and in our church bulletin.
Our foremost goal is to glorify God in all that we do and say. This includes our everyday lives in addition to our church activities.
Part of glorifying God is serving others. This is a focus that we want to maintain in our church and our lives.
To spread the gospel of Jesus is our biggest mission in this world. This is why the church exists.
